Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows about competitions in India or abroad - how do people find them? What places are they mentioned (what newspapers? word of mouth?) and is there a compilation of music competitions and contests? I think this might be a useful resource.

Hi rani,
In US the organizations contacts the music/dance school or guru and informs them about the competitions.

Meena,
Do you know which organizations these are? Do certain schools receive regular lists of competitions from around the country or only locally?
For example, if I wanted a list of competitions going on in the US, would this be available? Do you think this is feasible?

Rani, Local bay area events: TEXT  Ethnic Dance Festival -http://www.worldartswest.org/ TEXT  Multi Cultural Festival San Jose- (at a park, venue changes every yr.)May 26 Independence Day Celebrations- (Great America) in July Diwali- (Great America) Bay Area celebrates National Dance Week- (downtown)April 27 Festival of India-(Fremont India Independence Day celebrations)August 16. Temples- Livermore, shiva murga concord etc. invite and give every school an opportunity to perform. |
