As a new member I thought I would add a bit of cheer and smile to all of u there in Karnatik by sharing this...
Balamurali is known for his eloborate treatment of rare ragas. However, there are some who do not take kindly to this.
During one concert he eloborated a raga that baffled many. ???An elderly gentleman enquired the rasika next to him : "ambi, enna raagam idhu?"
The fan replied with a certain pride and enthusiasm:
" Maama, indha ragam paer gamanasramam..Yaarumae paada mudiyaathu Balamurali thavira! "
Pat came a juicy repartee from the elderly gentleman : "ambi, Yaarum paadavum vaendaam...! Idhu sravanasramam [jarring to the ears] ;D
