the meaning for a thillana in shuddhasalavi raaga, composed by mysore vasudevachar...
the pallavi and anupallavi of course dont mean anything, the charana is in telugu.
if not the exact word for word meaning, a brief gist wud do.
here goes-

parama purusha shri vasudeva
nirajaksha paripahimamam
bharama nannu brova neekku
bhavabhi taraka sujana rakhaka

thanks:)

Here is my feeble attempt in translating the caraNa text.
Corrections welcome.

parama=supreme, puruSa=man, shrI=respected, vAsudEvA=Vasudeva, nIrajAkSa=lotus eyed, paripAhi=also protect, mAm=me, bhAramA=burden, nannu=me, brOva=protect, nIku=for you, bhavAbdhi=residing in ocean, tAraka=recueing, sujana=good people, rakSaka=protect

O supreme Being ! revered VasudEvA! Is it too much of a burden for you to protect me, one that resides in the ocean and who rescues and protects the good souls?

I intend to learn this tillana.Could someone pl. clarify me about this tillana? Is this tillana in Shuddha MAlavi or Shuddha SAlavi. I have a kannada book published by Karnataka Sangeetha Nrithya Academy in which the Raga is mentioned as Shuddha MAlavi.-20th nathabhairavi janya AA:S G2 M1 P N2 S, AVA: S N2 P M1 R2 S. Is this correct or printing error? Where do you find the answers? Does anyone here has learnt/taught this tillana.
I would be grateful if someone can direct me to an audio file or email it to smvsm89@yahoo.com

If the notes used for the tillana are SGMPNS/SNPMRS (mELA 20) it is shuddhasALavi.
I am interseted in the book that you mention. Does it have the notation for this tillAnA? What other songs does it have?

It is cimbersome to scan a book unless you unbind it. Give me some time. I will type (oh my single finger, forefinger typing!) and post here. Hope you are not in a hurry.

Thanks so very much for all the trouble you have taken to type out the notation. I know how much work is involved. It is much appreciated.
